Should I Go On A Wedding Anniversary Trip Or Buy A New Ring?

My husband and I's 1st year anniversary is coming up... He gave me an option of buying a $6,000 right hand ring from Jared or go on a Disneyland trip for 4 days. Please help what should I do?

You could by a less expensive ring and stay at a less expensive room or hotel at Disneyland and have both.
Things to consider if, say, you have a specific ring in mind:
A ring will hold monetary value. A trip to Disney would hold life-long memories.
You could put off the trip to Disney for another year or so and get the ring now.

I’d buy the ring too. I love diamonds. If you pass up this opportunity for the ring, how likely is it that it will come again in the next few years? Also consider how long its been since you went somewhere good, and do you have a child or will be having one in the near future? That can put vacations on the backburner for a bit.
You might be disappointed by a trip to Disneyland if you’ve ever been to Disney World. I’d never been to either, so I really enjoyed going there myself.
However, my hubby moaned and groaned. He just doesn’t do theme parks well. If either of you have this kind of a problem, I’d opt for the ring. You could enjoy it the rest of your life.
I would take the trip no questions asked! $6000 on a ring is such a waste! I dont even wear my rings anymore and jewellery is sooooo overpriced. Rings dont hold monitary value like someone else said. You ever try and sell it in the future and you basically get nothing for it. Please Please Please dont waste that kind of money on a stupid ring. A trip creates memories that last a lifetime.

I’m not advising you here, just giving my opinion. I would take a trip but not to Disneyland. I’d prefer a national park such as Glacier or the Grand Canyon. Another thing you could do is save the $6,000 and for your second anniversary, go on a $12,000 cruise. I don’t like expensive jewelry and think it’s a waste of money.
A sweetheart ring and a promise ring are just gifts, they carry no tradition or rules. The only traditional rings before marriage are the engagement ring and the wedding bands.
