no it does not have to match.
It depends on what she is like. Me I wouldn’t care as long as they are both the same color, for instance white gold with white gold and yellow with yellow etc.ect. I have a five thousand dollar 1.5 k engagement ring and a 195.00 wedding band the diamonds are different but who looks that close? I would say go for it if she really loves him she will be happy with anything. I told my husband I wish you would have gotten a cheaper engagement ring because we are still paying on it. He said if I would have done that with the intentions of getting you a better one someday, then you wouldn’t have ever let me buy you a different one. You would have wanted to keep the original!
I agree with Lovelife33. She should choose whatever she likes but I would keep the metals the same – yellow gold with yellow gold, platinum with platinum etc coz some metals will wear the others down if they are rubbing against the.
As others said, match the metal.
My husband got me an anniversary ring for our 10th anniversary. My engagement ring is a yellow gold band, solitaire with shoulder stones; the wedding band has three of the smaller stones. He chose an amazing ‘fit’ for the anniversary band, it’s a chevron shape with three rows of teeny diamonds ($100), very dainty, totally goes with the other two rings – I wear it under the set because of the pointed end. Looks great – his good taste and careful choosing totally amazed me!
It is really a personal preference. For ideas look here http://mdcdiamonds.com/ They also customize.
Of course not!! Why just buy something identical to what you already have, when you have the opportunity to get something different? Unless of course, the plan was to have two matching wedding bands to start.
An anniversary ring can be anything, even a new “engagement” style ring or right-hand ring. It by no means needs to match anything that s/he already owns.
