Please just tell me if you think it would be ok to be worn alone, instead of wedding band and engagement ring. Will be buying as anniversary present.

Eternity rings are basically rings you give someone with the intent to stay with them for, well, eternity. Promise rings are more laidback, like you are promising to be with them. Eternity rings can be worn alone too.

Eternity rings are meant to be given 1 year after marriage or for the first birth of a child. Yours looks more like a engagement ring. But would be nice for an eternity ring. It should really match the set or style she already has, Hope all goes well.
First of all, that ring is very lovely, and would be able to be worn by itself. It is actually becoming more popular (I think in part due to the current economy) for one ring to represent both engagement and marriage.
As far as your additional question of what an eternity band is, it is a ring that has stones set all the way around the band so that there is no clear begining or end to the setting. It is ment to represent eternal love and is therefore a very good symbol for marriage just like the gold band I’m assuming you wear represents your never-ending love for your wife.
